Bulger agrees to four-year
contract with Rams
St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) -
Quarterback Marc Bulger agreed to terms on a four-year contract
Tuesday with the St. Louis Rams. Financial details were not
released.
"We are pleased to have Marc
on a long-term deal," said Rams head coach Mike Martz.
"This is good for Marc, but is also good for the
organization."
In 15 regular-season games last
year, Bulger completed 336-of-532 passes for 3,845 yards with 22
touchdowns and 22 interceptions.
He replaced an ineffective Kurt
Warner as the starting quarterback in Week 2 of the 2003 campaign
and led the Rams to a 12-4 record and the NFC West Division title.
St. Louis was then ousted by
Carolina, 29-23, in double-overtime in the NFC Divisional
playoffs. In that contest, Bulger finished 27-of-46 for 332 yards,
but was picked off three times.
The 27-year-old Bulger began the
2002 campaign as the third-string signal- caller, but got the
starting nod for the Rams after Warner and Jamie Martin suffered
injuries. In seven games, Bulger completed 138-of-214 attempts for
1,826 yards with 14 touchdowns and just six interceptions.
