Drop Shot – In this shot the shuttle cork is supposed to go over the other side of the net. This shot is mostly played at the front part of the net and transferred to the side lightly, which makes the opponent to run in getting it.

Drives – It is mainly used to aim at someone. This power shot is hit to the front of the body. Only the players who have prepared themselves with their racket up can play this shot. It is a very precise and quick shot. A player with good reflex is can counter this shot.

Long Drops – It is shot at the back part of a court. In this badminton shot the receiver is supposed to hit the ball at high before it hits low. To play the shot the receiver is supposed to hit it low, to land just over the net. But, if the receiver hits the shot too high then it would cause your opponent to smash it.

Cleass - This shot is applied when the opponent tries to move backward. This technique is used to position opponent in the middle of the court. Before, the shot starts falling hit it high. Hitting high means stretching your elbow to reach for the shot. This could drop at the back part of the court.

Smashes – It is one of the most popular or the most feared of all the badminton shots. It mainly requires hitting quick and hard shots. This strategy is mainly applied by players to end the game quickly. In this shot it is best to aim at side part of the court to make your opponent run. As, this shot is hit high but land low, there is a big chance that your opponent would not catch the shot.

Serves – Every badminton begins with serve. It is also one of the distinguishing factors used between who is going to score on that game. However, the contact between the racket and the shuttle should happen below the waist. The badminton shot is important in the game and it should only be aim in one direction.
